  A large variety of coffee and coffee concoctions to choose from. Friendly staff. Many delicious and tempting cakes and pastries. A nice place to meet with friends for a quiet conversation, coffee and dessert.

  I really want a non mega chain coffee shop to thrive in Belmont, and Caravan has had a good head start for several years, but the espresso is mediocre. It tastes like only slightly stronger drip coffee.
  
  If you're going to market yourself as a coffee shop and compete against Starbucks or Peet's, you have to beat them in espresso quality. Not Just Coffee, Amelie's, Rush By Espresso and Coco and the Director all have this basic rule down. Caravan needs to improve here, because eventually, a mega chain, or a small shop that pulls shots well will finally get into Belmont to compete. I wish Caravan well.
